This policy explains every cookie and similar storage this site uses, what each one is for, and how to refuse or change your mind. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data generally.

Your sign-in session. Set by us and by Supabase, our authentication provider. Without it you cannot stay signed in, and the reader and Trust Measured OS cannot work. It is not used to profile you and is not shared with anyone.

Stripe may set what it needs to process a payment and to detect fraud when you are on the checkout page. That is part of taking the payment you asked us to take.

These are strictly necessary: without them you could not sign in or pay.

Two features of the Diagnostic keep something in your browser’s own storage, on your device only and never in a cookie. If you connect your own AI key and tick “remember”, the key stays in that browser; it is never sent to us. And the Diagnostic remembers the “about you” details you give it (your role, and how you write) on that device.

The Hiring Scorecard Builder’s companion keeps your answers to its questions in the same storage, on that device only, so nothing is lost if you leave the page, and it uses the same remembered key.

Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes all of it. None of it is shared with anyone.

Google Analytics (GA4). Cookies in the _ga family, used to recognise a returning browser so that two visits are not counted as two people. They tell us which pages people arrive on, roughly where in the world they are, which device they use, and which pages lead to a purchase.

Nothing you write in the book or in Trust Measured OS reaches it. The free score calculators do not report to it at all.

Refusing it changes nothing about how this site works for you.

The Meta pixel. Cookies in the _fbp and _fbc families, used to measure whether advertising on Facebook and Instagram leads to purchases here. _fbp identifies your browser to Meta; _fbc holds the identifier of the advertisement you clicked, when you arrived from one.

When you start checkout, both identifiers are kept with your payment record and sent to Meta with the purchase, so the sale can be matched to the advertisement even if the page after payment never loads.

This is the one to think about. Meta can connect what the pixel records here with a Facebook or Instagram account, and with activity on other sites carrying the same pixel.

Refusing it changes nothing about how this site works for you.

Microsoft Clarity. Cookies in the _clck and _clsk families, used to tie a session together so that a page can be seen the way a visitor met it — where they scrolled, what they clicked, where they hesitated.

Clarity masks text content by default, so a replay shows the shape of a session rather than the words on the screen.

Refusing it changes nothing about how this site works for you.

These three load when a page loads. There is no on-site preference control yet — one is being prepared alongside a full legal review, and this policy will be updated when it arrives rather than before.

In the meantime any browser content blocker stops all three, and this site works normally without them. Google publishes an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, Meta’s advertising preferences sit in your Facebook or Instagram account settings under Ads, and Microsoft publishes a Clarity opt-out at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.
